K1X is synonymous with the Chiefgliders and vice versa!! The quality of material used and workmanship shown on the Chiefglider's construction is a testimony that K1X is a serious company and a force to be reckoned with.

K1X officially entered the shoe-making business in 2002 with the release of the Chiefglider, a three-quarter high shoe that provided equal parts style and functionality. After only 18 months on the market, since 2002, K1X has sold about 16,000 pairs of Chiefgliders, which have come in 18 styles so far ( KNOW THIS : Chiefgliders are not exclusive because they are expensive, it is because K1X never makes more than 1500 pairs of any colourway).

The clean look and comfort of the Chiefglider, combined with its sheer rarity, make the shoe a collectors dream. What's even better is that none of those qualities have come at the expense of the shoe being amazing to do what it was design to do – TO BALL IN! To expose K1X's shoes to real basketball players, in the summer of 2004, K1X teamed up with the legendary and most prestigious street-basketball institution in the world, “The Rucker” to become the official shoe of the Rucker league, held Friday nights at Rucker Park, Harlem, New York City.

Chiefglider Limited Edition Rucker Series

The legendary Rucker Park, situated in New York City, USA, was host to the original Rucker Tournament and the Rucker Pro League. It has hosted the Entertainer's Basketball Classic (EBC) tournament since the 1980's.

Back in the days, Rucker Park was considered the “mecca” of the best streetball around. Nothing has changed since then. It is still considered the home of the best streetball in the world. If you think you have game you better bring yourself to the Rucker to show and prove. Legendary players such as Dr. J, Wilt, Kareem, Monroe, Joe "The Destroyer" Hammond, Pee Wee Kirkland,The Goat. Marbury, Brand, Artest,Tinsley, Kobe and so many more have all played at the Rucker. Chances are, if you've heard a legendary story about streetball battles, the location was probably Rucker Park.

The EBC began in 1982 as games between rap groups, and bounced around a few parks for a few years before finding a long-time home at Rucker Park. The EBC is what has kept Rucker Park alive for years after the original Rucker tournament and various leagues shut down. All the famous stuff you've heard happen at Rucker Park from the 1980's up through the present, that's the EBC.

Serious basketball players everywhere know and respect teams like the Shamrocks or Dr. J's Westsiders, and since K1X is a serious ballers 4 ballers company, Rucker's Playground LLC gave K1X permission to create very limited quantities shoes for the Rucker League and K1X is the official tournament shoe of the legendary Rucker League. Each Rucker Edition colorways were restricted to only 1500 pairs. These sizzling babies are rare. When they are gone, they are gone. Don't cry or complain to us when you can no longer own a pair for yourself.
